Compliance Training

SEK deliver a range of Compliance Training, essential for Kent businesses. Ranging from mandatory training such as first aid and health and safety, through to customer service and business administration qualifications. We can come to you and deliver to a group of your employees or, if you’d prefer, you can book a place on one of our open courses.

Scheduled Training

Basic Food Safety

Basic food safety will cover the legislation relating to food safety, how food can become contaminated and ways in which we can reduce risk to individuals.  The course looks at the practical ways in which we can store, prepare and dispose of foods correctly and safely, by assessing risks, identifying hazards and then putting measures in place to reduce the impact of these.  At the end of the training learners should be confident and competent to work safely with and around food.

Basic Health & Safety

This half day course will give learners basic knowledge of health and safety, managing health and safety and health and safety issues.  At the end of the course learners will have covered a variety of subjects including: legislation, responsibilities, accidents, risks and risk assessment, PPE, recording and reporting and workplace safety (infection control, noise, first aid, lifting, fire, manual and handling, workstation safety, hazardous substances and electricity).

Emergency First Aid in the Workplace – Qualsafe Level 3 ( Accredited )

This course is ideal for anyone who has specific responsibilities at work and anyone who is likely to administer any first aid in the workplace. During this course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries.

Assessment Methods
Practical – CPR – Recovery – Bandaging

Must pass all of above to receive certificate.

Equality & Diversity

This course will cover exactly what equality and diversity is and how this can be translated to their day to day practice within their role.  Learners will explore their own values in relation to equality and diversity, what can impact on how we develop our values and ways in which we can adapt our practice, risk assessing and care planning in order to promote equality.  Attendees will learn through group work, debates, videos and case studies.  It will also cover the various legislation that supports and promotes equality for individuals including human rights.  Not only is this course relevant to the care sector but can be adapted for any other sector of employment.

Fire Safety Principles – Qualsafe Level 1 (Accredited)

Do you know what to do if there’s a fire?

Don’t panic – this course is perfect for Fire Safety representatives and covers hazards, risks, controlling risks and fire, principles and practice of fire safety management and the role of the nominated fire warden.

Working Safely – IOSH (Approved)

A day can make such a difference. SEK’s 1-day Working Safely course is for people at any level, in any sector, that will boost business performance and staff motivation.

This is a completely different approach to safety and health training: a high-impact programme designed to be fun and inclusive. No jargon, no legalese, just inspirational learning that’s enjoyable, stimulating and effective.

SEK’s Working Safely course is recognized by CSCS as an equivalent to a Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.

This means delegates who successfully complete our Working Safely course can apply for a CSCS green labourer card once they have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Operatives Test.

This course will cover the following:

  • Introduction to working safely
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance

Paediatric First Aid – Qualsafe Level 3 ( Accredited )

This qualification is for those with specific responsibilities at work, volunteering or community activities, the content is specific to children and babies. This course fulfils the Ofsted first aider requirement for early year teachers, nursery workers and childminders. Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.

Basic First Aid

This first aid training course will give learners basic first aid knowledge including: how to respond to common first aid emergencies, legislation, infection control, risk assessment, dealing with incidents, raising the alarm and raising help and documentation and recording, including RIDDOR reporting.  Learner will have the opportunity to gain practice experience in dealing with choking, CPR, the recovery position and basic bandaging.

Managing Safely – IOSH (Approved)

Our IOSH Managing Safely training is designed for staff in all organisations/sectors who are required to manage risk and resources. You’ll find a practical programme, full of step-by-step guidance, with a sharp business focus. You will also find that the highly innovative format and content engages and inspires your staff – critical to getting safety and health embedded across the whole organisation.
