Course Details
Developed by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s leading health and safety membership organisation, this accredited three-day course is suitable for managers in all sectors. It focuses on the real-life challenges faced by those responsible for people and processes, offering step-by-step guidance from start to finish.
The course covers the key legal frameworks underpinning workplace safety, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, particularly:
- Section 2 – Duties of employers to their employees
- Section 3 – Duties to others affected by work activities
- Section 7 – Duties of employees to take reasonable care and cooperate with safety arrangements
- It also reflects the principles of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which require employers to conduct suitable risk assessments and implement effective management systems.
Through a mix of interactive workshops, case studies, and discussions, delegates explore how to assess and control risks, understand responsibilities, investigate incidents, and measure performance. Each topic is supported with practical examples to help embed learning and ensure relevance to every workplace.
