Ready to get involved?

We’d love to welcome you.

Volunteering can be a great way to build confidence, gain experience, meet new people and open the door to new opportunities.

A lovely first step is to join us for one of our Volunteer Coffee Mornings a relaxed chance to meet the team, find out more about volunteering, and enjoy a coffee and a chat.

Our coffee mornings will take place at SE Kitchen in Ashford and Ramsgate, from 10am to 12 noon, every other month.

First sessions:

16 April — Ramsgate

17 April — Ashford

Come along, say hello, and see how you could get involved.

What our volunteers say

"I love volunteering at SE Kitchen because of the other volunteers, staff and customers. It is nice to know you are making a difference to your community and impacting on food going to waste. When I am feeling low or lonely, I know I have people at the SE Kitchen" "I love the people you get to work alongside. Also, the general public that use the place are really lovely. Real community feel. People are happy to chat and happy to be there" "Volunteering with SEK has been a great experience for me. I met kind people, learned some English and I feel more confident and happy being part of the team. Thank you."
"Meeting people and helping them with their problems. I find it very gratifying to be able to help people"

Career paths are not always linear. Sometimes the most valuable step forward is gaining experience, rebuilding confidence or staying professionally active while exploring what comes next.
Our roles offer practical, hands-on experience, exposure to real working environments and the opportunity to develop transferable skills that strengthen future applications.
If you are between roles, returning to work, changing direction or simply looking to use your skills for good, we would be pleased to hear from you.
