Supporting SEK’s social media and digital presence
Social Enterprise Kent works across the county to support individuals, communities, and local social enterprises. Social media plays an important role in sharing our work, promoting opportunities, and connecting with the people who need our services.
As a volunteer, you will help support our social media marketing activity, working alongside staff in a friendly and supportive environment.
What you’ll be doing
As a Volunteer Social Media Marketing Assistant, you may help with:
- Scheduling social media posts
- Checking and proofreading social media and marketing copy
- Helping compare SEK’s social media with similar organisations
- Supporting simple reporting on social media reach and engagement
- Organising digital content and marketing materials
As you gain confidence and skills, you may also have the opportunity to:
- Learn how to use Canva
- Help create visual content for social media
- Share ideas for posts and campaigns
You can learn at your own pace. There is no expectation to do everything straight away.
When and where
- Location: SEK Ashford
- Commitment: At least 4 hours, one day per week
- Days and times: Flexible – to be agreed to suit you and the team
Who can volunteer?
You do not need formal marketing experience.
This role suits people who:
- Are friendly, reliable, and willing to learn
- Have enthusiasm and a creative flair
- Are comfortable using a computer and basic digital tools
- Have an interest in social media, marketing, or design
- Want to gain experience that could support future job applications

- Advice and feedback to help you develop your skills
