Course Content
The course includes all content from the Level 1 course—such as recognising mental health conditions and initiating supportive conversations—and expands to include the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan, a practical framework for helping someone in distress. Learners are also introduced to key workplace responsibilities and the role of leadership in shaping a mentally healthy culture.
Substance misuse is also covered in greater detail, exploring how drugs and alcohol can influence mental health and complicate support. The session encourages reflection on how to balance empathy with professional boundaries.
The qualification is suitable for individuals in a wide range of roles, from team members and wellbeing champions to managers and HR professionals. It helps organisations meet their mental health and wellbeing commitments while giving individuals the skills to support colleagues, customers, or service users more confidently.
Learners who successfully complete the course will receive the Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health, accredited by Nuco Training. Certification is valid for three years, with annual refreshers recommended to maintain confidence and up-to-date knowledge.
