Course Content
Participants will explore the key principles of team dynamics using Tuckman’s model of team development (Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing) to understand where their team sits and how to guide them forward. You’ll also examine team roles using Belbin’s Team Role Theory, helping you identify strengths, spot gaps, and support collaborative working.
The session places strong emphasis on emotional intelligence and communication—how to lead with empathy, how to motivate individuals, and how to maintain trust during change or conflict. You’ll learn how to set a clear direction, provide feedback that supports growth, and model the values you want to see in your team.
This course supports best practice in line with recommendations from CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) and ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management). Whether you’re working toward people-focused leadership as part of your CSR goals, or aiming to improve retention, wellbeing and performance, this training gives you practical tools that translate across all sectors.
At Social Enterprise Kent, we know that strong leadership drives better outcomes for people and organisations alike. That’s why we focus on practical, real-world development—not just theory. You’ll leave with renewed confidence, fresh strategies, and a stronger understanding of what it means to lead well.
