The course draws on recognised UK event management standards and best practice, referencing relevant legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, Data Protection Act 2018, and licensing regulations under the Licensing Act 2003.

Course Content
Participants will begin by exploring how to develop a clear concept and purpose for their event, understanding the audience, desired outcomes, and potential risks. You’ll learn how to build a realistic timeline, allocate roles, and manage communication effectively across teams and stakeholders.
Budgeting forms a key part of the session, including how to balance costs, manage sponsorship or ticket income, and account for contingencies. The course also covers essential compliance and safety considerations, referencing the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Licensing Act 2003, and Data Protection Act 2018 for attendee management and marketing.
Practical guidance is given on venue selection, supplier coordination, and logistics such as accessibility, insurance, and crowd management. Learners will also explore how to create strong briefings for staff and volunteers to ensure everyone understands their role on the day.
