Course Content

Everyone has the right to live free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Whether you work with children, young people, or vulnerable adults, you play a vital role in protecting those at risk.

This one-day accredited course provides the knowledge, legal context, and practical skills needed to safeguard others effectively. It is suitable for anyone in a position of trust—particularly those in supervisory, frontline, or designated safeguarding roles.

You’ll explore what safeguarding really means in practice. This includes how to recognise signs of abuse or neglect, how to respond appropriately, and how to record and report concerns. You’ll also gain insight into why some individuals may be reluctant to disclose, and how to manage these sensitive conversations professionally.

This course covers safeguarding legislation in detail and helps you understand your responsibilities within your role. You’ll learn how to make safe, appropriate judgements, escalate concerns when needed, and protect yourself when reporting concerns.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility—but knowing what to do in the moment can make all the difference. That’s why this training focuses on building both your understanding and your confidence.

The course is taught in a supportive environment by an experienced safeguarding trainer. It includes practical scenarios, group discussion, and the opportunity to reflect on how safeguarding applies to your setting.

Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a nationally recognised Level 3 Award, regulated by Ofqual and awarded by FAA.

At Social Enterprise Kent CIC, we believe safeguarding starts with awareness—and grows through action.
