Course Content
Delivered live by experienced trainers either face to face or online, this course offers a dynamic mix of presentations, discussion, case study exploration, and peer learning. You’ll explore complex safeguarding topics relevant to both children and adults, including how to manage internal barriers to disclosure and staff reporting, make appropriate and defensible decisions, and engage effectively in the safeguarding process after a referral is made.
You’ll also examine the emotional toll of safeguarding responsibilities and how to build internal support networks for yourself and your team. Key UK legislation and statutory guidance underpin the course throughout, with content adapted to reflect your organisation’s specific policies and procedures.
This course is ideal for anyone with lead responsibility for safeguarding in their organisation, whether in care, education, health, housing, or voluntary sector settings. It is particularly suited to Designated Safeguarding Leads and those preparing for the role, and provides a valuable space to reflect, strengthen practice, and stay up to date with safeguarding expectations.
