Overview
The course also encourages reflection on personal wellbeing and equips learners with practical tools to support themselves and others. While this is a non-regulated update, it is recommended that learners attend on the first and second anniversary of their original Level 2 qualification to keep their skills current and relevant.
Delivered by Nuco-accredited trainers, this supportive and discussion-led session includes a certificate of attendance.
Key Learnings:
- Recap: What is First Aid for Mental Health?
- Recognising stress and common mental health conditions
- Reviewing and applying the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan
- Exploring current events and external factors affecting mental health
- Practical steps for improving individual and workplace wellbeing
Course Content
Throughout the course, learners will refresh their understanding of how to recognise signs of mental ill health, respond appropriately, and use the First Aid Action Plan with confidence. The course also includes time to reflect on recent social, political, or economic events—such as the cost of living crisis, post-pandemic impacts, or workplace changes—which may influence mental wellbeing.
In addition to revisiting key content, the course encourages proactive approaches to self-care and resilience, with tips and strategies for maintaining positive wellbeing both personally and professionally.
There is no formal assessment; however, the trainer will observe participation and understanding throughout the session. A certificate of attendance will be issued as evidence of continued professional development.
This refresher is ideal for mental health first aiders, wellbeing champions, or anyone wishing to maintain and build upon their knowledge in a supportive, up-to-date setting.
