The First Aid for Mental Health Annual Refresher is designed to help learners maintain confidence and competence following completion of a regulated First Aid for Mental Health qualification, such as the Nuco Level 2 or Level 3 Award.
The course revisits the core principles of mental health awareness and support, helping learners refresh their understanding of common mental health conditions, recognise potential warning signs, and respond appropriately using the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan.
A key feature of the refresher is the opportunity to explore current issues and emerging challenges that may affect mental wellbeing. Learners will consider factors such as workplace pressures, social change, economic uncertainty, and other external influences that can impact mental health.
The session also focuses on personal wellbeing and resilience, recognising that those supporting others need to maintain their own wellbeing. Practical strategies are discussed to help learners manage stress, maintain healthy boundaries, and continue providing effective support.
Delivered in an informal and discussion-led format, the course encourages learners to share experiences, reflect on real-world situations, and update their knowledge in a supportive learning environment.
This course is suitable for Mental Health First Aiders, wellbeing champions, supervisors, managers, and anyone wishing to maintain and build upon their mental health knowledge and skills.
