Infection prevention and control

This Infection, Prevention and Control course provides care staff with essential knowledge to reduce the spread of infection and maintain safe working practices. It is suitable for all staff working in residential, supported living, or domiciliary care, and reflects core health and safety responsibilities.

Activities support understanding of safe cleaning routines, correct use of chemicals, and the difference between cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilising. Personal hygiene and handwashing are also discussed in line with recognised standards.

The course reinforces the importance of acting promptly and safely in the event of infection risks and supports a culture of responsibility and good hygiene practice.
