Course Content

The Mental Health Awareness for Managers course recognises that managers often play a key role in supporting wellbeing, even if they do not have formal mental health responsibilities. This engaging and accessible half-day session helps managers understand mental health, recognise signs of concern and respond with confidence and compassion.

Learners will explore the signs and symptoms that may indicate a colleague is struggling, including changes in behaviour, increased stress, or reduced performance. The course introduces common conditions such as anxiety and depression and encourages reflection on how stigma can influence how people seek help—or hide their struggles.

Using interactive exercises and breakout discussions, managers will practise how to start open and respectful conversations around mental health, including knowing when and how to escalate concerns or signpost to appropriate help.

The course also explores the role of leadership in shaping a mentally healthy workplace. Learners leave with practical ideas to encourage open conversations, promote wellbeing and contribute to a positive team culture.
