Social Enterprise Kent are working in partnership with Community Energy South to promote and raise awareness of the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG). The HUG2 funds energy efficiency upgrades for Thanet & Folkestone homes that are not connected to the gas network.

Eligible households can apply for home improvements including free insulation, low-carbon heating and clean heating systems.

Eligibility:

  • The home isn’t heated by mains gas.
  • Has a combined income of less than £36,000 or receives means-tested benefits such as Universal Credit or is in a target area as identified by the government.
  • The home is hard to heat, based on home energy performance certificate. *

The scheme is managed by Eon and they will support customers through the application process.

The installer will identify which improvements are best for eligible homes and arrange any necessary surveys and installations.

Please contact digitalsupport@sekgroup.org.uk for more information.

*An EPC certificate is required by law when a property is built, sold, or rented. An EPC certificate, or Energy Performance Certificate, provides a rating for the energy efficiency of the entire property and specific areas such as heating and insulation. This can be found at https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate
