What support is available?

We understand that managing the ever-increasing cost of living can be challenging. That's why our friendly team of Community Connectors are here to provide comprehensive support to assist with a wide range of issues, including help with financial stability, finding work, support with digital skills, access to healthy food, help with paying bills and much more.

Finding Work

Finding the right job can be really hard! We will work with you to develop your knowledge, skills and confidence to go into work or change the job that you are in. Our flexible 12-week programme covers all elements of employment support, from effective job searching, creating a CV and help with interviews, to walking through the door on your first day.

Not sure you are ready for work? We can help you to find training or volunteering opportunities that suit you.

Health and Wellbeing

We care about your physical and mental health. Making positive lifestyle changes can seem daunting but our friendly team can guide you towards a healthier lifestyle, support you to make long-term changes, help you to manage disabilities and health conditions, and link you in with services and organisations in your area for further support.

Grants for Appliances

Getting the appliances you need shouldn't stress you out. We're here to lend a hand and explore if you can use grants and assistance programmes to make your life more comfortable.

Household Budgeting

Our team can support you with practical budgeting skills to help you manage your money and feel more in control of your finances.

Benefits Calculations

Understanding and applying for benefits can seem overwhelming. We can help to simplify the process and support you to claim what you are entitled to.

Healthy Eating

Eating well on a budget is possible. We offer tips and strategies for nutritious, cost-effective meal planning and can help you access healthy food, low-cost food in your area.

Housing

Secure, affordable housing is essential. We can provide guidance on housing-related matters and working in partnership with Porchlight to address health inequalities linked with poor housing .

Digital Skills

Improving your digital skills can build your confidence in using technology for work, learning, shopping, banking, booking appointments, keeping in touch with friends and family, and many other aspects of daily life. 

We're here to assist you develop your digital skills and gaining access to the internet, empowering you to thrive in the digital age.

Who can access support?

More people than ever are being affected by the current cost of living crisis. Increasing living costs and lack of access to essential goods and services can have a significant detrimental impact on health and wellbeing. Our friendly team of Community Connectors are here to provide comprehensive support to anyone living in east Kent to assist with a wide range of issues, including help with financial stability, finding work, support with digital skills, access to healthy food, help with paying bills and much more.

Appliance Grants

We have a small fund available to people living in east Kent to help them to buy essential goods or appliances, where they would otherwise struggle to buy these items. Referrals to this fund must be made by a professional organisation and emailed to connectwell@sekgroup.org.uk

Referrals - Make a Difference Together

At Social Enterprise Kent, we believe in the power of collaboration. We welcome referrals from all organisations and services who are working with people that would benefit from our support.

We are also interested in linking our participants with services and support in their local area. If your organisation offers support that would help people with any elements of the cost of living crisis, please do get in touch and we can add you to our directory of services and support our participants to connect with you.
