Community Wellbeing

SEK is delighted to be managing the Universal Wellbeing Contract for Older People across Thanet and the South Kent Coast. Commissioned by Kent County Council in 2021 this contract will provide wellbeing activities for any adult over the age of 55 (or under the age of 55 with complex needs) across Thanet, Deal, Dover, Folkestone, Hythe & Lyminge and Romney Marsh.

Working with partners across the contract region will see an exciting and vibrant range of activities for older people being developed through the next 3 years. SEK will also work to identify gaps in provision and support grassroots organisations with expertise and funding to fill them. We will also work with communities to tackle digital exclusion in some of the most deprived areas.

Wellbeing Community Fund

About the Fund

Social Enterprise Kent is lead partner on the Kent County Council Universal Wellbeing Service for Thanet and South Kent Coast. This programme is working to reduce social isolation and loneliness among older people, improve their wellbeing, ensure their voices are heard and help them live fulfilling lives.

The Wellbeing Community Fund will allow organisations, groups and individuals to seek up to £10,000 for a new activity that is likely to reduce isolation and loneliness for older people. The successful initiatives will be selected by members of Wellbeing Advisory Groups, which cover Thanet, Dover and Folkestone.

Who can apply?

The Wellbeing Community Fund is open to any charity, community group, organisation or individual with an idea that supports people who are 55 years old and over, or those who are under 55 with complex needs.
