As a flagship social enterprise with years of experience, we’re in an ideal position to provide expert community support.
Over the past few years, we’ve helped people and organisations to develop their resilience, create enterprises while encouraging activities to ensure their business is sustainable.
More recently, we’re the lead delivery partner on the fantastic Ageless Thanet project as well as a partner on the Macmillan Cancer Champions project.
Part of the National Lottery Funded ‘Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better’ programme, Social Enterprise Kent leads the £3 million Ageless Thanet programme.
Working with 50+ residents, Ageless Thanet is tackling social isolation and loneliness, improving mental and physical health in older people and influencing, both locally and nationally, perceptions of ageing and informing policy on ageing.
Macmillan is investing just over £55,000, working with Social Enterprise Kent, Kent County Council Public Health and Thanet Clinical Commissioning Group to set up and run a ‘Cancer Champion’ programme for Thanet, focusing on Margate and Ramsgate.
The Cancer Champions assist their local communities to take charge of their own health and wellbeing, providing information on preventative health to raise awareness of early symptoms of cancer, as well as signposting to services where people can seek help.
